About The Position

The Registered Behavior Technician works alongside the Behavior Analyst to implement intensive behavioral intervention services for children and adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other developmental disabilities. The Behavior Technician is responsible for implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs, collecting ongoing data, discussing progress with parents, and participating in ongoing supervision with the Behavior Analyst.

Requirements

  • Must have or be actively working towards a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college in Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) designation preferred; OR must be actively working towards obtaining Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) designation.
  • Must have experience with children; experience with children with autism and other developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Experience providing intensive ABA services preferred.
  • Maintains client confidentiality.
  • Organized, flexible, and willing to take constructive feedback and apply it to improve own professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts direct therapy (skill acquisition and behavior reduction) sessions with children and adolescents who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities in an outpatient setting.
  • Completes session preparation and close out procedures, including but not limited to organizing materials, data sheets, and reinforcers.
  • Collects and graphs data accurately and efficiently.
  • Assists Behavior Analysts in creating and maintaining necessary assessment and intervention materials.
  • Engages clients in positive, enthusiastic manner while creating novel learning opportunities.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with parents and staff.
  • Follows instructional guidance, to follow behavior plans, to work well independently and seek assistance when needed.
  • Participates in ongoing supervision and group training opportunities.
  • Mandatory participation in eight hours of in-service training annually in applied behavior analysis training and related topics.
  • Abides by BACB Code of Ethics as detailed in the Guidelines for Responsible Conduct for Behavior Analysts (www.bacb.com).
