About The Position

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) applies knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods to help patients living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorders and works with patients with other developmental disabilities. Works to alter a person’s behavior and employ a systematic approach to help those they serve to develop better social and life skills; consistently implements the behavior plan with integrity while collecting data. Works under the supervision of a BCBA and will receive mentorship to develop growth in the field of ABA.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities using Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work or related field.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
  • Successfully passed RBT competency assessment.
  • 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List (as required for RBT credential).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders in patient’s home and/or community setting.
  • Experience working with individuals with moderate to severe aggressive behaviors.
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work or related field.
