About The Position

Merrick & Company is hiring a Registered Architect in our San Antonio, Texas office. Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship. The ideal candidate for this entry level architectural position is someone who possesses a comprehensive knowledge of design and construction documentation, coupled with the flexibility to manage both short-term tasks and long-term projects. This role demands a unique combination of creativity and fundamental technical abilities. A successful applicant will be proactive, driven, innovative, and articulate, thriving in a dynamic and challenging environment. They will take full ownership, under the direction of senior staff, the architectural production and BIM processes across all stages, ensuring excellence in Federal projects from the initial planning to the final stages of construction administration. Typical annual pay range for this position is $70,000 - $84,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience as an Architect/Associate Architect/Architectural Designer.
  • Must be a Licensed Architect (Newly licensed is acceptable).
  • Master's degree in architecture.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, 3D modeling programs, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Client projects for this position require sole U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of architectural production and BIM for Federal work.
  • Provide architectural design for Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DoE) governmental facilities and NASA in support of the Space Launch System (SLS).
  • Facilitate the design and production efforts for projects of various sizes and complexity.
  • Under senior supervision, be capable of designing concepts and translating them into all phases of the project.
  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client's needs.
  • Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, civil) and integrate their work into the architectural documentation.
  • Create architectural visualizations and presentation material for internal and client meetings.
  • Help manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Attend client meetings and present proposals.
  • Perform code reviews and manage project schedules and budgets.
