About The Position

The Regional Vice President - Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at Prime Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the educational quality and financial viability of graduate medical education (GME) programs. This role serves as a liaison between various stakeholders, including the ACGME, residents, teaching faculty, and hospital departments, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. The DIO will develop and manage residency programs, contribute to strategic planning, and support the overall vision for medical education within the organization.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Education, Health Care, or equivalent experience required.
  • Five years of experience in Graduate Medical Education preferred.
  • Two or more years of hospital and leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ACGME institutional responsibilities and residency program evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic residency management systems such as New Innovations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain educational quality and financial viability of graduate medical education (GME).
  • Serve as a liaison between ACGME and residents/fellows, teaching faculty, and GME Office.
  • Oversee all residency programs in the assigned market to ensure clinical excellence and compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Develop clinical programs to support residency and medical education goals.
  • Collaborate with CUSM to advance medical education objectives.
  • Contribute to Prime's overall vision and strategy for medical education across residency programs.
