The Regional Truck Driver is a key position at our Jensen Infrastructure. You’ll deliver precast concrete products to customers or internally from branch to branch in a safe and timely manner based on a pre-determined schedule. This is a regional position servicing AZ, CA, NV, UT, ID, OR and WA, requiring the driver to be on the road. Reporting to our fleet dispatcher, you’ll primarily work with customers, delivery drivers and the sales team. A highlight of your day to day will include: Maintaining a safe and clean work environment and truck, returning all tools after use to proper storage location, and performing routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifying unsafe working conditions and notifying supervisor. Maintaining logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status following applicable state and federal regulations; checking all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate; immediately reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Checking vehicles prior to driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; following established company safety, OSHA, and DOT guidelines when transporting goods; advising supervisor of any issues after daily inspections are completed. Adhering to all DOT guidelines and regulations; maintaining logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status following applicable state and federal regulations; checking all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate; immediately reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Ensuring proper customer service by reviewing and comparing invoice to what product is loaded; collecting delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions, and requested routes/drop off location; reading and interpreting maps in order to determine vehicle routes; driving trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes, in order to document weights and to comply with state regulations; obtaining receipts or signatures when loads are delivered to customers. Transporting products from one location to another location abiding by road rules and ensuring safety on the road; Installing tire chains in inclement weather conditions; driving overnight or during early morning hours; securing loads by utilizing chains, binders, straps, slings, etc.; ensuring that proper tie down technique is used to safeguard product and ensure road safety; ensuring that the truck and products do not exceed the maximum weight limits for transport. Loading and unloading trailer at pickup and delivery.
