About The Position

As a Regional Travel Director of Dining Services Specialist, you will provide interim leadership, operational support, and culinary expertise across multiple senior living communities. This role is responsible for stabilizing dining operations during leadership transitions, supporting new openings, implementing company dining standards, and driving resident satisfaction. The position requires extensive travel and flexibility, operating on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotational schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-unit food service
  • Proven experience leading dining services teams
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
  • Culinary degree, hospitality management degree, or equivalent experience
  • ServSafe®/Always Food Safe Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in assisted living, memory care and independent living
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • High emotional intelligence and adaptability
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Passion for serving seniors and enhancing quality of life
  • Must possess general computer skills for communication and planning requirements
  • Understands and displays proper food safety procedures, cooking temperatures, sanitation of kitchen and equipment and storage techniques and temperature
  • Ability and willingness to travel; must also be ready to travel unexpectedly as needed
  • Professional image in both appearance and behavior
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site leadership for dining services during vacancies, leaves, or periods of transition
  • Serve as acting Dining Services Director or Dining Department Heads as needed
  • Assess dining operations and implement immediate improvements to quality, service, and compliance
  • Ensure menus meet nutritional guidelines, resident preferences, and company standards
  • Support scratch cooking, presentation, and consistency across communities
  • Lead by example in resident-focused hospitality and service delivery
  • Train and mentor dining services team members, including cooks, servers, and leadership staff
  • Support onboarding and development of newly hired Dining Services Directors or Dining Department Heads
  • Reinforce food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct audits related to food safety, sanitation, and documentation
  • Partner with community leadership to address survey readiness and corrective action plans
  • Work closely with Executive Directors, Regional Leaders, and Corporate Support teams
  • Provide clear handoff documentation and recommendations at the conclusion of each assignment
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the organization’s dining philosophy
