About The Position

The Regional Transportation Manager plays a crucial role within the Global Transportation Team, overseeing the North America transportation operations. This position focuses on enhancing transportation service levels, achieving cost savings, and deploying capabilities effectively. The manager will engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of transportation services, mitigate risks, and maintain optimal freight cost efficiency while meeting customer commitments. Additionally, the role involves driving operational stability and continuous improvement initiatives across regional transportation programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Business preferred, or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the AME international and domestic transportation cost and service performance for the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
  • Continuously improve delivery performance to meet service levels supporting CRD/MPD improvement or plant delivery requirements.
  • Monitor lane transit lead time performance and drive initiatives for transportation planning and forecasting.
  • Track and monitor regional transportation spend, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and participate in regional and global RFQs strategy, bid evaluation, and implementation.
  • Build internal routing guides to ensure service requirements are met and achieve best-in-class results.
  • Manage local and international forwarders' transportation performance.
  • Support and resolve escalations of service issues, including carrier capacity sourcing with forwarders.
  • Assist Division/Plant in equipment transfer and ensure delivery as per requirements.
  • Develop processes to enable zero quality defects and implement planned corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous productivity improvements to enhance cost and service quality with partners, identifying network optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor market risk factors to proactively mitigate potential service impacts.
  • Ensure transportation data quality for the region, resolving master data and reporting errors.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in International Freight Forwarding and international trade operations.
  • Engage with Divisions to understand footprint changes, mode mix changes, and future business unit development plans.
