About The Position

Regional Managers oversee everything that happens within the 4 walls of all the stores within their assigned region- no matter if it’s regarding FOH to BOH or from salary to hourly. The Regional Manager balances being an advocate for their employees, while supporting the operational practices, core values, and company culture of The Salty. The Store Manager and Executive Pastry Chef of each store reports to the Regional Manager. This role interacts with all their employees by frequently having in-store check-ins in order to ensure that the Store Managers and Executive Pastry Chefs are doing their jobs correctly, the stores are clean, the donuts and coffee are beautiful and tasty, and that The Salty’s core values are being instilled throughout all positions. To be a successful Regional Manager is to be a good leader. This position reports directly to The Director of Operations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of prior food & beverage specific experience with 2+ years of multi-unit management.
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time.
  • Can manage multiple projects, delegates freely with quality.
  • Strong communication skills that engage people in a genuine, authentic way. Proactively connects to the team to drive behavior and results.
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and easily adapts and responds to change.
  • Disciplined approach to priority setting with the ability to identify the root cause of store operations and people opportunities and move quickly to improve performance.
  • Demonstrated management of applicable restaurant regulatory areas, including: employee safety and food safety.
  • Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Meeting/exceeding annual P&L objectives with a primary focus on top-line sales, productivity, and production management.

  • Full understanding of Toast POS and cutting/adding donut quantities, constantly maximizing donut sales, when you’re able to, on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Developing internal succession plans and a deep bench of managers at all levels of store operations by continually focusing on the development of your Store Managers.
  • Driving continuous performance improvement focusing on leading indicators. You must be balanced in your approach focusing on people, financial, and customer experience - equally.
  • Training, coaching, and inspiring all locations to deliver exceptional customer experiences and high-quality culinary operations ensuring a commitment to The Salty’s operational policies and procedures.
  • Leading Store Manager’s development both personally and professionally through goal setting, coaching and feedback, and always connecting development to improved performance.
  • Fostering a positive, team-oriented environment with a healthy competitive spirit that ensures the sharing of best practices and a commitment to goal achievement.
  • Maintaining the highest level of professionalism in the workplace. You are an advocate for your employees, all while supporting the operational practices, core values, and company culture of The Salty.
  • Treating your stores as your home. When you enter a given store, it’s your responsibility to be aware of all the small details to make sure that nothing is missed.
  • You must make it a priority for both yourself and your managers to be tasting donuts and coffee regularly.
  • You are the store's failsafe, the buck stops with you- meaning that you need to address issues in an effective and efficient manner.
  • You work with multiple stores and managers across your region, driving many miles to coordinate in-store check-ins/visits and reviews.
  • Responsible for delivering/exceeding budget, top-line sales, financial metrics, productivity & production management. Active management of P&L in collaboration with Store Managers, Executive Pastry Chefs, Director of Finance & greater team including but not limited to purchasing control (COGS, packaging, etc.), vendor management (SYSCO, landscaping, janitorial services), scheduling labor to sales & more
  • On a weekly basis on/before 11am on Sunday before the week starts, you will send out ‘Quantity Reports’ to each of the stores within your region.
  • Review/audit payroll submission from the Store Managers
  • You are the ‘customer service’ for Sharepoint for your Store Managers. It’s important that you keep all documents up to date.
  • Regularly checking Google Drive that the appropriate leaders were inputted into Google Drive and are actively using it.
  • It’s your responsibility to be consistently check Zenput of all your stores to ensure that your managers, including the Executive Pastry Chefs, are submitting their lists correctly and on time.
  • On Zenput you’ll also find weekly/monthly/quarterly tasks that have been assigned to you. It’s expected that you complete these lists on time and accurately.
  • Being active and responsive in Asana - which includes staying on top of due dates for all tasks.
  • Being active and responsive in your email.
  • Understanding how Front works and actively assigning emails and responding to tags.
  • Being active and responsive in Teams.
  • Your responsibility is to ensure that all licenses and permits are paid for and renewed on time for each store in your region. This also includes any licenses and permits for vehicles as well.
  • Regional Managers are responsible for helping implement coffee changes given to them in collaboration with their Store Managers. More specifically, Regional Managers are responsible for:
  • COGS + Gross margin for all beverages
  • Quality of coffee and beverages within their assigned locations
  • Ensuring that all stores are stocked with the appropriate uniforms. Meaning that Managers have the embroidered denim shirt, Pastry Chefs have the embroidered chefs coat, and that all other employees have the store uniform tee.
  • Ensuring that pricing on Uber Eats + POS systems are accurate to the printed menus.
  • The Store Managers and ASM’s keep track of the merchandise inventory on a week to week basis on Zenput and Toast, but it’s your responsibility to ensure that they’re accurate and that inventory aligns with in store inventory.
