About The Position

Regional Sourcing Lead TMS Global are a wholly owned subsidiary of DS Smith PLC, a multi-national packaging and display manufacturing business. TMS Global specialise in the outsourcing of retail display, print and packaging and are active in 97 markets globally. Our TMS community consists of just over 300 people who are spread internationally across APAC, LATAM, EMEA and NA. About the role TMS Global is seeking a talented Regional Sourcing Lead to join our team in the USA. You will work remotely, however regular travel will be required to existing suppliers, the volume of which will be dependent on your location. As the Regional Sourcing Lead, you will be responsible for multimillion level spend across all packaging categories, within the US with multiple cross-country vendors and be responsible for driving and delivering commercial value to underpin our commercial contracts. You will lead a team of 2 direct reports and define & deploy the regional sourcing strategy through your team for the packaging categories, using strategic sourcing methodologies and supplier stakeholder management principles to deliver commercial success. In this role you are also part of a wider Global Procurement team, and work closely with them to develop, define, implement and ensure compliance with group and/or business wide procurement strategies and adherence to mandatory governance, processes, Policies and standards.

Requirements

  • We're looking for someone who has experience of direct management and leadership of a team, even better, that you also have experience leading a team through transformation to success.
  • You're comfortable managing a multimillion, multi country spend portfolio and have experience of either direct or in-direct sourcing and procurement operations and will already have a great understanding of the supplier landscape for the European region.
  • You will have recent achievements of TCO/total cost ownership initiatives and have delivered on driving commercial value for categories through leveraging of a significant spend portfolio and successful competitive vendor management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, define, implement and regularly review the Cluster category sourcing strategy and processes (including Supplier Management, Quality and other Procurement processes) for the relevant geographies or clients, either directly or in collaboration with the Cluster Sourcing Team or Global Procurement Team (when required)
  • Line management responsibility for the Cluster Sourcing Team, ensuring they are motivated, continuously developed (personally and professionally) and performance and delivery is measured and reportable.
  • Communicate and influence identified stakeholders at all levels to gain commitment to the category plan.
  • Supplier relationship owner for key suppliers, as defined by the supplier / spend segmentation.
  • Identify continuous improvement and step-change opportunities for product and service specifications, using stakeholder and supplier networks.
  • Run significant value delivery projects and competitive sourcing processes to deliver measurable cost savings through supplier negotiation, improved TCO initiatives and improved commercial strategies.
  • Support the client facing teams to maximise gross profit margins through knowledge of the client contractual agreements.
  • Ensure compliance of contractual terms with suppliers including financials, SLAs and KPIs.
  • Maintain an expert knowledge of technology developments and innovation in the supplier base, to identify future opportunities and potential impact on sourcing strategy and delivery.
  • Ensure all data is auditable and benchmark and savings are evaluated in line with the commercial strategy.
  • Support business objectives from a commercial, growth, supply chain and subject matter expertise perspective.
  • Review and assess supply interruption risks, taking necessary action to mitigate / manage such risks.
  • Assist with shaping the development of category plans and strategies, as part of the global Procurement team
  • Work both independently and with Global Procurement and Finance/Legal to negotiate favourable contract terms.
