About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic MSW Manager for a large outpatient geriatric center in San Francisco, CA. The Social Work Manager is responsible for the management of the Social Work department including - service delivery, quality of care, staffing and finances.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or health-related field. LCSW preferred.
  • Four years’ experience working as a clinical social worker, preferably in the field of geriatrics.
  • Two years’ experience in management/supervision/financial management.
  • A skilled facilitator and problem solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with an electronic health record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and supervises the Social Work staff.
  • Ensures social work staff are effectively participating in the Interdisciplinary Team for participant care and coordination.
  • Ensures competencies requirements are set and met; provides ongoing coaching and training.
  • Develops, implements and supports department specific performance goals, best practices and quality improvement programs to advance the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Works collaboratively across the organization to establish and monitor utilization targets, financial targets. Resolves issues related to quality programming, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Sets standard criteria and process, and performs utilization review of participant care plans.
  • Ensures delivery of quality services by overseeing the department’s compliance with regulatory requirements, adherence to policies and procedures, and leading continuous process improvement and risk management efforts.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and setting of goals.
  • Coordinates and assist with social work coverage in partnership with Social Work Leads and Program Managers.
  • Provides individual case management to participants as needed.
  • Organize and facilitate department meetings.
  • Oversees social work related grants and the caregiver program and department specific projects.
  • Coordinates student (intern) placements including training, supervision, and evaluations, in collaboration with Program Manager and Learning and Development Department.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains working relations with educational institutions and community agencies and organizations.
  • Provides oversight of contracted LCSW clinical supervision staff as applicable.
  • If LCSW, provide LCSW supervision hours to social workers as needed.
  • Serves as an effective link with administration, OLSHS’s management team and department staff through effective communication, productive collaboration, demonstrated leadership and facilitation of change opportunities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
