About The Position

The Town of Brookline Department of Public Health and Human Services is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and highly organized Regional Shared Services Manager to lead, develop, and support the Metro Public Health Collaborative (MPHC), a shared services partnership among the health departments of Arlington, Belmont, Brookline, and Newton. Funded through the Massachusetts PHE grant program, the MPHC strengthens equitable public health service delivery by sharing resources, coordinating staffing, and developing regional approaches to community health. This role provides administrative, supervisory, and professional leadership to ensure effective coordination and delivery of shared public health services across participating communities. The Shared Services Manager also oversees grant administration, budget management, and reimbursement processes that support regional public health operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in public health, health administration, environmental health science, social work, or a related field
  • three to five years of related public health or health administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have strong supervisory abilities, solid grant and budget management experience, and the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively across diverse communities and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cross-jurisdictional shared service initiatives across participating public health departments, including ongoing project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Develop and help implement policies, procedures, and operational plans for shared services.
  • Prepare, manage, and submit grant reports, deliverables, and related budgets; develop annual budgets for MPHC Advisory approval; ensure timely expense monitoring and compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate collaborative meetings and represent MPHC at local, regional, and statewide forums.
  • Supervise MPHC staff and interns; collaborate with partner communities on staff direction, performance expectations, and shared priorities.
  • Coordinate work activities of regional staff, including Senior Public Health Specialist(s) and the Epidemiologist.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with municipal leaders, public health professionals, human services agencies, and community-based organizations.
  • Support partner communities in designing and implementing public health initiatives such as training, credentialing, communications, community outreach, research projects, advocacy, and grant writing.
  • Collect and report required public health data to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health; participate in regular check-ins with the Office of Local and Regional Health.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
