About The Position

The Regional Service Director oversees service operations for industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia and CO₂ applications). This role ensures excellent maintenance, repair, and emergency service performance while maintaining safety, profitability, and client satisfaction. Reporting to the Vice President of Service Operations, the Regional Service Director provides hands-on leadership for service managers and technicians in their region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration or HVAC service operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing field service teams or multi-site operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of ammonia and CO₂ refrigeration systems.
  • Proficiency with service management software, ERP systems, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Midwest region.

Responsibilities

  • Execute regional service plans aligned with corporate strategy and goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop service managers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and peer directors to improve service quality and customer retention.
  • Oversee daily operations for preventive maintenance, repairs, and emergency response.
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs, safety standards, and IIAR/OSHA regulations.
  • Monitor scheduling, dispatching, and resource allocation to improve efficiency.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (response time, quality, customer satisfaction).
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with regional clients and key accounts.
  • Partner with sales teams on service proposals, renewals, and presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for regional contract growth or additional service offerings.
  • Manage regional budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance.
  • Implement cost control measures and monitor profitability of service contracts.
  • Ensure accurate billing and contract compliance.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure technicians follow best practices for ammonia and Freon systems.
  • Support continuous improvement through technology adoption and process updates.
  • Coordinate training programs for field staff to maintain technical and safety certifications.
