PURPOSE Provides leadership and oversight of region sales and operations strategy, planning and execution, including customer sales, market development, real estate optimization, manufacturing production, customer service, retail, safety, and yard operations. Plans and coordinates activities through subordinate functional managers in order to ensure the achievement of operational and financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of managing a market or area, including sales and operations
  • Able to develop a long-term strategic plan and vision for the Region. Sets overall region objectives, based on long-term (2-5 years) strategic plan.
  • Travel requirements: 50% - 60%, some short notice travel required
  • Must be willing to relocate to live within the assigned Region, if necessary

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements programs to execute strategic plans and achieve regional objectives. Balances company and regional objectives across the company’s strategic pillars and helps the region prioritize and resource appropriately. Measures them/holds them accountable for results.
  • Reviews operating results of the region, comparing to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Experienced managing operational P&Ls and certain Balance Sheet items such as Working Capital and Fixed Assets. Comfortable connecting operational activities and actions to financial results.
  • Assists in the recruiting and retaining of key operating and sales managers. Plans for long-term succession of these individuals by ensuring appropriate development plans are being implemented.
  • Represents the organization to customers, suppliers, trade groups, the general public etc.
  • Experience having direct oversight for the following functional areas: Sales, Operations, Installed Sales (residential and multifamily), Manufacturing (truss, panel, int. / ext. door and EWP) and acquisitions.
  • Key member of company operational leadership with responsibility to help identify and define key company initiatives.
  • Orchestrates multiple activities to accomplish a goal by using corporate resources (people, funds, materials, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This job has supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to: supervises assigned team members (in-person and remote); talent selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management, including conducting performance reviews; recognizing team members; addressing and resolve concerns timely, escalate for help when necessary.
