About The Position

You act as the primary security liaison for all office, manufacturing, and R&D sites across the Americas region, building strong relationships to ensure security programs support business objectives. You supervise regional site security supervisors, ensuring consistent execution of security protocols, incident processes, and compliance standards. You conduct comprehensive regional security assessments, monitor incident trends, and deliver reports and recommendations for continuous improvement. You oversee security planning and execution for regional events, ensuring adequate staffing, access control measures, emergency preparedness, and post‑event reviews. You lead incident response for security within the Americas, directing resources, escalating issues appropriately, and maintaining communication with leadership, partners, and authorities. You manage vendor performance, validate invoices, and identify cost‑efficient improvements without compromising security. You track key security metrics and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to leadership, ensuring alignment with policies, SOPs, budgets, and regulatory requirements. You travel within the Americas and internationally to support sites, incident response needs, training activities, vendor coordination in support of global security programs. As the Regional Security Manager for the Americas, you play a critical role in strengthening Dexcom’s global security posture by driving regional alignment, operational consistency, and proactive risk mitigation. You serve as the primary liaison for security operations across diverse office, manufacturing, and R&D environments within the region, building trust with stakeholders, managing front‑line security teams, and ensuring readiness for any threat or disruption that may impact our people, facilities, or operations.

Requirements

  • You excel at building strong, trust‑based relationships and your background in physical security operations enables you to assess risks, lead incident response, and ensure consistent operational standards across multiple sites.
  • You must have 8-12 years of security experience, with at least 4 years in the government or law enforcement and 2 additional years’ corporate security experience.
  • You must have a minimum of 2 years’ management or lead experience.
  • You bring strong crisis‑management capabilities and are confident leading emergency responses, coordinating tabletop exercises, and communicating clearly under pressure.
  • Your analytical skills allow you to perform security assessments, evaluate incident data, and present actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • You are skilled in vendor management, including overseeing SLAs, validating invoices, and supporting Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • You bring experience supporting security operations across the Americas, including familiarity with manufacturing, supply chain operations, and regulatory environments.
  • You must have strong leadership and communication skills, be capable of operating under pressure and making decisions that are time sensitive.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8-12 years of industry experience
  • 2-5 years of previous management or lead experience

Nice To Haves

  • You should have professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, etc.) or other security/emergency management/business continuity credentials from an accredited organization.
  • You should be an active member of relevant security communities (i.e., ASIS, etc.) to stay current on best practices, emerging threats, and industry standards.
