Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) is seeking a Regional Scheduler to work at Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center located in Avenel, New Jersey. Under the guidance of the Administrator, the Regional Scheduler processes all consultation requests and related documentation for the facility. The position will interface with the Statewide Ombudsperson on concerns elevated to a state level.

Requirements

  • High School graduate required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of medical office or hospital experience including medical records clerical duties.
  • Experience maintaining confidential relationships.
  • Valid driver's license is required. Must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Processes all consultation request forms and related paperwork for the facilities, including but not limited to:
  • Entries of consultation requests into the Inmate Eligibility System.
  • All scheduling functions for the consultation request including those for on-site clinic appointments and for off-site appointments.
  • Arranges the appropriate transportation of patients for appointments.
  • Reviews and investigates inmate grievances related to healthcare, through medical record review and personal interviews with inmates and staff. Finalizes investigation with a written report to be distributed according to policy and procedure.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
