About The Position

Now is the best time to join Johnstone Supply. The Regional Sales Manager is the strategic sales leader within a defined geographic, multi-branch operation. This includes overseeing all sales planning and execution, customer experience, employee development, process improvement, management of the sales plans, and sales performance working in collaboration with regional leadership partners. Our customers are professional certified Technicians and Contractors who come to Johnstone for our product selection, expertise, and quality service. Johnstone is growing, and so can you.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. / B.S.) in business, marketing, or related field preferred; minimum of 10 years’ experience in complex sales, with a strong emphasis on business-to-business product sales; at least 5 years of successful sales management experience leading and managing complex multi-location outside sales professionals with documented success;  or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Direct B2B sales and B2B sales management: Experience in the HVACR industry is preferred but not required for this role.
  • Proven success in applying effective sales strategies and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, influencing decisions, and overcoming objections.
  • Very strong analytical, planning and organization skills and abilities with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and sales planning.
  • General knowledge of HVAC/R products and industry practices, customer needs and product applications.
  • Familiarity with using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Clear, proactive communicator in both verbal and written formats with ability to communicate successfully across a wide variety of audiences.
  • Skilled in handling confidential information and sensitive interactions with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Persistent, self-motivated, and driven to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and drives overall sales performance, including revenue targets, customer growth, and market share expansion.
  • Develops and executes sales strategies, territory plans, and competitive positioning tactics.  Regularly monitors performance against goals and takes correction action where necessary.
  • Monitors market trends and competitor activity; adjusts approach to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Champions the Johnstone Supply value proposition to differentiate in the market.
  • Represents the company at industry events and associations to drive visibility and business opportunities.
  • Forecasts and determines customer needs. Works to increase market share and market penetration while maintaining balance across customer and product segments.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, and manages a team of Outside Sales professionals.
  • Conducts joint customer calls and provides coaching on sales tactics, prospecting, and product positioning.
  • Oversees incentive and compensation plans in collaboration with leadership.
  • Delivers ongoing education around product knowledge and selling techniques.
  • Ensures inside sales professionals are knowledgeable of and ready to support established sales programs and special marketing promotions  in order to attain or exceed sales budgets and profitability.
  • Sets performance standards and provides regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Supports outside and inside sales roles in developing new business and growing existing accounts.
  • Cultivates relationships with key decision-makers to strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Resolves customer concerns in a timely, professional manager when needed.
  • Oversees creation of quotes, bids, and proposals to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Maintains focus on account profitability and strategic customer prioritization.
  • Ensures consistent communication of Johnstone’s solutions as a business advantage to customers.
  • Tracks sales metrics, team activities, and pipeline health to ensure goal alignment.
  • Forecasts sales performance and provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Utilizes and ensures sales teams’ effective use of CRM systems and other tracking resources.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Works in conjunction with regional operations leaders, branch personnel, and other partners to ensure successful customer outcomes.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
