About The Position

This is a remote, travel-based outside sales role covering Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Applicants must currently reside in CT, MA, or RI. As an Outside Sales Representative at Island Tech Services, you will drive revenue growth by identifying and closing new business opportunities with public safety and municipal agencies. Focused on vehicle upfitting and in-vehicle technology, you'll manage a defined territory across CT/MA/RI, expanding our customer base while growing wallet share within existing accounts. This position is remote from your home office, with regular travel throughout the region. This is a field-based, consultative sales role where success is measured by your ability to build a strong pipeline, develop trusted relationships with decision-makers, and deliver solutions that help first responders operate more efficiently and safely. You'll have access to a full support team-including engineering, marketing, install teams, and executive leadership-to help you win. Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in B2B or public-sector sales, ideally in a technical or service-based industry
  • Proven success meeting or exceeding a $1M+ annual sales quota, with at least two consecutive years of 100%+ attainment
  • Strong prospecting and territory development skills with a hunter mindset
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Established relationships with decision-makers in police, fire, EMS, or municipal government
  • Experience selling mobile data terminals (MDTs), vehicle upfitting services, or related public safety technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with public safety agencies and local governments within your assigned territory
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline valued at $250K+ within the first 90 days
  • Maintain consistent outreach activity, including 50+ weekly touches through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and quotes using NetSuite and our sales enablement tools
  • Collaborate with internal teams-including engineering, install, and customer service-to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Represent Island Tech Services at industry tradeshows, events, and customer demos to increase visibility and generate leads
  • Achieve and exceed sales goals and performance milestones, contributing to the company's growth targets
  • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client challenges and aligning ITS solutions with their operational needs
