About The Position

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) – Southwest Region is responsible for driving profitable sales growth across the Merit Brass portfolio within Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii, Las Vegas and El Paso, TX. This individual will develop and strengthen relationships with wholesale distribution partners, contractors, engineers, and key market influencers. The RSM will represent the full line of Merit Brass products—including fittings, nipples, pipe, valves, and press systems—while supporting new product introductions and specification work where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in the PVF (Pipe, Valve & Fitting), plumbing, or related industrial distribution markets.
  • Proven track record of building and growing regional sales territories.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with wholesale distributors and manufacturer representatives.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Must reside within the assigned geography and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. Prefer applicants to reside in Phoenix or Las Vegas.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with Merit Brass’s national objectives.
  • Manage and grow relationships with wholesale distributors, ensuring Merit Brass maintains a preferred vendor position.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and through contractor and engineering specification influence.
  • Promote and support all Merit Brass product categories, including legacy core offerings and newly launched products.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Line Management, Customer Experience, and Strategic Accounts teams to ensure alignment on pricing, service, and inventory strategies.
  • Capture all market intelligence, customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline updates within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Participate in joint sales calls and trade shows events to build awareness and strengthen market presence.
  • Provide feedback on market conditions, competitor activity, and pricing trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support and lead product training sessions for distributor sales teams, contractor customers, and engineers.
  • Deliver consistent reporting on sales performance, growth initiatives, and customer engagement.
