About the position

We have an opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to join our Berkley Accident and Health team! You will be responsible for developing profitable business initiatives in an assigned territory by creating detailed sales plans to identify target markets needed to hit sales goals, directing distribution of Group Captive and Corporate Products in assigned region, and creating new distribution outlets and facilitating marketing efforts to utilize alternative distribution methods; i.e. cross marketing through the Berkley family of companies, email blasts and newsletters, and attending industry events and seminars. We will train in captives, as long as you have stop loss sales experience. This is a remote position with travel focused in the Southeast territory (FL, GA, NC and SC). Responsibilities

  • Generate and facilitate high monthly volume of pre-qualified submissions for all authorized Berkley Accident and Health products
  • Provide regular feedback to Home Office on successes and failures in the quote process to allow for adjustments and improve close ratio
  • Provide monthly updates on pipeline, current, and future activity
  • Continue to expand product education and develop cross-selling opportunities within territory
  • Make a minimum of 12 calls per day to prospective customers to build a continuous chain of callbacks, prospects and new opportunities every week, facilitated by a minimum of 3-5 new face to face meetings per week
  • Be a proactive listener with customers by identifying needs and collaborating with Home Office to derive innovative solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years sales experience in the stop loss arena
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for selling group insurance products, including marketing strategy sales presentations
  • Strong knowledge of available products
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal and external customers
  • Ability to be productive independently, yet work in a team environment
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills a plus
  • Must exhibit professional behavior at all times while representing or being identified as an employee of Berkley Accident and Health
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with management and staff to further the company's mission
  • Ability to travel within the Southeast region
