About The Position

The Regional Sales Manager for the Pratt Industrial Division at Mueller Water Products is responsible for driving sales of specialty valve products across the Northeast and South Atlantic regions. This role involves working closely with manufacturer representatives and distributors to promote and sell industrial-use valves and actuators. The position requires a strong focus on technical specification writing, building relationships with consulting engineers, and conducting product training sessions to enhance product awareness and demand in the marketplace.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years outside sales experience in the valves, actuators, or related field.
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations.
  • Ability to routinely travel 75% of work schedule (estimated 3-4 days/week of travel with one office day).
  • Intermediate computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint programs.
  • High level of outgoing interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Comfortable with public speaking engagements and delivering presentations to large groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business, engineering, or communications-related field.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales through existing and new manufacturer representatives and distribution channels.
  • Call on end product users to promote new and existing product lines and develop favorable specification positions.
  • Provide complete service to market channels including quotations, product training, technical support, and inventory maintenance.
  • Perform product training for end users and distributors to promote Mueller products.
  • Develop cooperative relationships with key channel partners and end user personnel to enhance product demand.
  • Establish sales goals and specification objectives to meet company sales budget.
  • Identify significant bid opportunities and provide complete project information, including price strategy.
  • Provide after-sale service support, including warranty and claims management.
  • Actively participate in trade organizations to promote Mueller products.
  • Continuously update end user's database for territory.
  • Provide monthly sales forecast and market overview.
