The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of Technical Sales Representatives and Territory Sales Managers in Boston area. This role ensures profitable growth in sales, revenue through planning, execution and management of a supportive team. This position reports to the Senior Director of Sales East America and is part of the East AMR Sales Team working remotely to cover Boston and needs to be located in Boston area . In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Supervises and directs staff which would include employee hiring, training, evaluations and discipline as well as ensure execution of sales duties. Provide sales forecasting, establish sales goals and pipeline management for Boston territory. Develop the sales strategy for the region: identify and organize the customer base, deploy sales strategy in the field; recommend and implement action plans; share information internally; identify and leverage new business opportunities. Development and execution of the sales plan in key target segments: pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic. Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates. Position the company as the solution provider and customer advocate . Work collaboratively with the Field Application Scientific team, Sales Specialist team and Product Management to ensure sales targets are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; Advanced degree in Life Sciences preferred.
  • Sales team leadership with a minimum of three years of exceeding sales targets in the $ 20 M + range for life sciences , genomic solutions strongly preferred.
  • Must be in field with sales team a minimum of three days/week to partner , influence and strategically steer sales team to achieve revenue target.
  • Extensive familiarity with existing academic and corporate accounts in the Boston area is required.
  • Must have experience working in large Life Sciences organization with ability to navigate and manage corporate structure and expectations .
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel – more than 50% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • Sales Team management experience in custom product and / or one of these domains of application that are NGS, CRISPR, Synthetic Biology or qPCR/dPCR
