About The Position

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of Technical Sales Representatives and Territory Sales Managers in the Boston area. This role ensures profitable growth in sales and revenue through planning, execution, and management of a supportive team. This position reports to the Senior Director of Sales East America and is part of the East AMR Sales Team working remotely to cover Boston and needs to be located in the Boston area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to supervise and direct staff, provide sales forecasting, establish sales goals, develop sales strategies, and work collaboratively with various teams to ensure sales targets are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; Advanced degree in Life Sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of sales team leadership experience exceeding sales targets in the $20M+ range for life sciences and genomic solutions.
  • Must be in the field with the sales team a minimum of three days/week.
  • Extensive familiarity with existing academic and corporate accounts in the Boston area.
  • Experience working in a large Life Sciences organization with the ability to navigate corporate structure.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales team management experience in custom product and/or domains of application such as NGS, CRISPR, Synthetic Biology, or qPCR/dPCR.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs staff including employee hiring, training, evaluations, and discipline.
  • Ensure execution of sales duties.
  • Provide sales forecasting and establish sales goals for the Boston territory.
  • Develop the sales strategy for the region and organize the customer base.
  • Deploy sales strategy in the field and recommend action plans.
  • Share information internally and identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute the sales plan in key target segments: pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic.
  • Demonstrate and uphold behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values.
  • Position the company as the solution provider and customer advocate.
  • Work collaboratively with the Field Application Scientific team, Sales Specialist team, and Product Management.
