The Regional Sales Engineer (RSE) for the Tait LifeX Console Product offering plays a key role in the successful design and implementation of the Tait LifeX communication solutions, as well as providing technical training for Tait's respective Customers and/or Channel Partners. The RSE participates primarily in a pre-sales technical support capacity, providing system design guidance and technical expertise during the sales cycle. The RSE may from time to time be tasked with supporting customer and/or Channel Partner RFP responses, detailed designs, presentation support, quote generation and Tait pre-sales technical product training to Tait's Channel Partners. As a secondary role, the RSE may be called upon to provide post sale detailed technical and/or product end-user training on behalf of Tait and/or it's Channel Partners. This may include but is not limited to leading and delivering Tait LifeX product training during the Tait system implementation process, providing guidance on configuration or programming best practices, or providing other technical oversight and guidance with/to Tait's Channel Partners as directed. The Tait RSE is a primary technical interface between Tait's customer, Tait's Channel Partners and the Tait organization. Knowledge of commercial issues, technical requirements and the sales process is also required. It is critical that the customer perceives Tait to be a responsive, innovative, competent, and professional organization. How the RSE behaves and communicates with the customer and Channel Partner will drive a large part of that perception. It is expected that the role will involve anywhere from 35% - 45% travel. The RSE will be expected to continue to acquire skills and knowledge through both training and experience in some of the following areas: Oral and written communication Presenting to small and large audiences Customer Service skills – responsiveness, accuracy, reliability, empathy, assurance Existing and proposed markets for Tait products Design and implementation of voice dispatch console solutions and third-party application integration Emerging Communications and Network Technologies Company organisation, structure and engineering interfaces Tait Quality system Planning and resource estimation Problem solving Judgment The RSE will be proactive in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to provide top quality customer support. This will be supported by Tait in the form of specialized training and support from our strategic partner Frequentis, as well as Tait in New Zealand. Frequent and extended periods of travel are a requirement for this job.
