About The Position

Reworld is seeking a dedicated, versatile, and self‑motivated Safety and Health professional with a proven record of leading the implementation of safety and health programs in an operating environment. We are looking for innovative and forward‑thinking candidates who bring a progressive approach to safety and health management systems. The Regional Safety Manager plays a critical role in strengthening Reworld’s safety culture by partnering with facility leadership and implementing corporate safety and health standards across the East Region, including facilities in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Long Island (NY), New Jersey, and Southeastern PA. Reporting to the Vice President of Health and Safety, this position supports strategic safety initiatives and directly contributes to reducing injuries, enhancing compliance, and driving long‑term safety improvements. This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced safety professional who is passionate about health and safety excellence, continuous improvement, and building strong relationships across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; equivalent industrial experience may be considered; CSP or CIH preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial safety and health environment with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI, NFPA, and NIOSH standards.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites or working in a regional capacity.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 70% of the time.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or off‑hours as needed.
  • Self‑directed, action‑oriented, and forward‑thinking with a strong ethical foundation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey critical information effectively, including during high‑pressure situations.

  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with varying temperatures and potential exposure to hazards.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights when required.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection, fall protection, safety boots, protective clothing, hearing protection, and gloves.

  • Experience with leading indicators is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with the Senior Director of Maintenance, Maintenance Manager of Field Services, facility managers, and site safety coordinators to support the success of all safety programs.
  • Conduct quarterly snapshot audits for assigned regional facilities and track and report findings.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Corporate Safety Procedures and programs.
  • Manage expenditures within established corporate budget parameters.
  • Provide coaching, training, and technical support to facility safety personnel and field‑based employees.
  • Support outage planning and participation, including oversight during safety‑critical phases, industrial hygiene sampling, analysis, reporting, accident investigations, job safety analysis (JSA) review, hazard identification, ergonomic assessments, and corrective action evaluation.
  • Provide leadership support for VPP Star certification and recertification where applicable.
  • Lead or participate in accident investigations and root cause analyses for OSHA‑recordable incidents, serious near misses, and CFS‑related events.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in industrial hygiene and safety.
  • Conduct research on safety and health topics, equipment, and best practices as needed.
  • Support Facility Safety Personnel With Preparation of training materials and coordination of weekly and monthly safety themes.
  • Fit testing activities.
  • Ergonomic evaluations and related design improvements.
  • Hazard control assessment and implementation.
  • Evaluation of site‑level safety and health program execution and maintenance.
  • Selection and evaluation of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Tracking and oversight of industrial hygiene sampling and medical surveillance activities (e.g., blood lead levels, hearing tests, respiratory medical qualifications).
