The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for leading and implementing all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across multiple bakery and manufacturing facilities within the assigned region. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, FDA, and food industry safety regulations, promotes a proactive safety culture, and drives continuous improvement to reduce risk and prevent workplace injuries. The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety professional with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills who thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain regional safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with corporate EHS standards and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular facility audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner with Plant Managers, Maintenance, and Operations teams to drive accountability and ownership of safety performance.
  • Lead and coordinate incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics (TRIR, DART, near-misses, etc.) and identify trends for improvement.
  • Ensure all employees receive appropriate safety training, including onboarding, job-specific, and refresher courses.
  • Manage and support site emergency response plans, drills, and safety committees.
  • Oversee compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and food safety regulations related to environmental health and safety.
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations on workers' compensation claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and engagement across all levels of the organization.
  • 5+ years of hands-on safety and risk management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in occupational health & safety, risk management, environmental health and safety (EHS), or related discipline - bachelor's degree in one of these disciplines would be a plus, high school diploma or GED required.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated success designing, executing, and evaluating safety interventions, programs, and risk mitigation strategies across all plant (bakery) locations.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective safety training.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, risk assessment, policy development, and safety reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
  • Ability to connect safety goals to business objectives while executing as a hands-on, operational leader.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and self-directed on initiatives from inception to post-implementation evaluation.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and consultative skill.
  • Able to assess an organization's current safety posture and develop actionable strategies to make measurable improvements.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within the region.
