About The Position

The Regional Rental Manager (RRM) is accountable for running profitable operations of the HD Rental Large Equipment and Field team for their assigned Region, which covers 2 regions: Northern Plains and Central Region consisting of approximately 8 states. The RRM is responsible for and oversees the entire Field Rental Operation, Large Equipment and Delivery Revenue, operational efficiencies, staffing, training, development of talent, and profitability including P&L for their assigned region. The RRM's primary focus is the growth and development of their team & business through frequent communication, strategic planning, and coordination with various functional areas within THD. The RRM is accountable for Regulatory Compliance and associate safety performance. The RRM is influential in supporting the customer experience through Tool Rental Center presentation, quality of routine maintenance of Large Equipment, and knowledgeable & well-represented Field Technicians. To be successful in this role an RRM must strategically plan and align to balance priorities and multiple business partners, develop a team of salaried and hourly associates, and create a culture of customer service, safety, and compliance execution.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED
  • 3+ years of work experience

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability, and communication
  • Ensure DOT compliance and prompt incident/accident/harsh events and resolution
  • Collaborate with business partners to support all company programs, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, state/local regulatory compliance, and DOT regulations
  • Responsible for continually maintaining all required operator certifications and licenses
  • Delivers Sales and Dashboard performance metrics
  • Manages payroll and headcount of field technicians
  • Ensures compliance of all operational Metrics including but not limited to, store inspections, lift inspections, PMs, repairs, on-time delivery and pick up, and timely deployment of new equipment
  • Monitors performance of the Rental fleet in their region ensuring units are achieving target performance
  • Establishes and executes fleet optimization to improve/maintain fleet mix and overall fleet performance
  • Ensures team and self are providing world-class customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Responsible for achieving or exceeding all P&L controllable metrics
  • Ensures team are following proper inventory management procedures with parts and large equipment inventory
  • Manage associate expenses to the budget and ensure all expenses are within company guidelines
  • Partners with DRM (Divisional Rental Manager) to identify and address staffing needs
  • Partners with the Human Resources team to post, recruit, and onboard new associates
  • Develop leaders and build a pipeline through succession planning
  • Support talent management efforts by challenging and empowering leadership teams
  • Develop and execute training and assimilation plans for new associates
  • Ensure DOT/Driver File compliance of new associates
  • Owns the development, execution training, and assimilation plans for new associates

  • Maintain a constant stream of communication with the team in order to keep them informed of new programs, policy/SOP changes, and the vision of the region as well as the company
  • Conduct annual performance reviews as well as ongoing performance management of direct reports
  • Champion growth of self and team using formal development resources available to THD leaders
  • Partners with store leadership to schedule and execute training for THD associates on THDR SOPs, equipment operation, and equipment maintenance
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with business partners throughout their region including store, district, and regional leadership
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with the PRO side of the business
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with Rental teams at the store support centers
  • Presents themselves as the point of contact for anything Rental within their region
