About The Position

The purpose of this position is to ensure the reliability of facilities, equipment, utilities, processes, and systems across multiple Hydrite locations. They create programs and procedures to support reliability and mechanical integrity. This role oversees safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance in a manufacturing setting, focusing on improving reliability, safety, and environmental compliance. The engineer also develops maintenance resources and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and work within a technical field, with 5-10 or more years of experience.
  • Three to five years of chemical/food processing or manufacturing experience with supervisory or management experience.
  • Serves as leader of authority with expert-level knowledge in one or more areas. Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations that are backed in data and experience.
  • Plans, organizes, guides projects and consult with others at the facilities.
  • Able to collect, manipulate data and build tools/dashboards to report MI and Reliability. Experience with PSM/RMP or Calarp methodology.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, design, function, and process. Maximo preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with employees and management.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety principles, job planning, and process safety initiatives.
  • Ensure assets operate within design parameters and meet regulatory standards.
  • Maintain robust safety practices and assist with hazard assessments to prevent future
  • Develop and implement a reliability strategy for critical equipment or systems by utilizing maintenance best practices and KPI’s to improve equipment reliability to enhance operational safety and performance.
  • Develop design, installation, test, and inspection criteria for equipment and suppliers.
  • Inspect new installations to ensure they meet specifications and makes recommendations to modify current installations when needed.
  • Define, develop, and maintain an asset maintenance plan and Mechanical Integrity.
  • Support site Mechanical Integrity element owners and other PSM/RMP/Calarp programs.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement opportunities to remove waste and control cost around plant maintenance.
  • Become knowledgeable on the functionality of the CMMS (Maximo) and historian software (ex. Delta-V PI) to better utilize these systems to improve overall maintenance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a process to communicate the plant maintenance/reliability KPI’s based on the maintenance program to ensure quality information is available to evaluate equipment life, performance, and issues.
  • Investigate equipment failures and ‘bad actors’ to determine root cause and implement the necessary corrective actions to eliminate failures.
  • Develop preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the correct level of activity to successfully maintain equipment. Monitor effectiveness and update as needed.
  • Collaboration with facilities maintenance and operations teams to drive safety, quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide technical and operational support for site regarding plant equipment and operation.
  • Assist in training and development of Maintenance personnel around technical and procedural practices.
  • Identify and attend regular training to improve department knowledge and capabilities including membership in relevant organizations.
