About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, including keeping the cloud running. This involves supporting all AWS data centers and the associated equipment like servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling. The team works on complex supply chain problems and seeks talented individuals to help. Amazon's Data Centers are recognized for innovation in security, safety, space utilization, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The global team is responsible for the construction of Amazon-owned sites, with Construction Managers leading the creation and delivery of innovative products. This Regional Construction Program Manager will implement solutions to improve processes, streamline workflows, and create tools for field execution teams to deliver capacity more efficiently. They will collaborate with internal and external partners (General Contractors) to integrate industry best practices and innovative ideas into new programs. The role also involves assisting Senior leadership in defining key metrics, reports, and goals for new and existing programs to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
  • 5+ years of construction or project management experience

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experience
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA
  • Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
  • Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage programs and processes simultaneously.
  • Engage with technical experts and key stakeholders to initiate new programs, including developing new processes and program documentation.
  • Identify process and communications gaps, while developing and driving solutions.
  • Develop and maintain lessons learned and establish mechanisms to share this with teams.
  • Work closely with stakeholders on key program initiatives to develop and implement procedures and systems that continually improve and streamline the program.
  • Drive simplification and automation to evolve processes, services, and solutions, to increase agility and efficiencies and lower costs.
  • Establish a metrics-driven, programmatic approach to strategic initiatives to develop improvements and efficiencies.
  • Gather, define, refine, and drive requirements for program process, standards, and system Implementation requirements needed to monitor & report on construction programs across multiple geographic regions with little or no direction from management.
  • Define & evaluate KPIs derived from program milestone, estimate, spend forecast, and cost/resource loaded schedule performance.
