About the position

Hubbell Utility Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Product Specialist to join our Wildlife Mitigation Business Unit. This role is pivotal in selling innovative environmental solutions specifically designed to eliminate power outages caused by wildlife in power distribution and substations within the Utilities industry. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating complex sales cycles, requiring critical thinking, exceptional collaboration, and meticulous organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to introduce and sell animal mitigation solutions to new and existing customers in the utilities, renewables, and/or commercial and industrial industries.
  • Manage a lengthy sales cycle ranging from 1-3 years, while effectively balancing the needs and timelines of multiple internal and external partners, including Project Managers, Designers, Manufacturing, Distribution Engineers, Substation Technicians, and Leaders in Reliability Asset Management and Procurement.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, understanding customer trends and providing tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.
  • Utilize various platforms to articulate value-based propositions and develop compelling business cases that highlight the benefits and ROI of our solutions.
  • Travel up to 50% to meet with clients, attend industry events, and drive business development activities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to effectively position our products and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in developing business within new territories and managing complex sales cycles in the Utilities industry.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to quickly learn new products and adapt to changing market dynamics.
  • High drive and initiative, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a knack for high-level negotiations and closing deals.
  • Effective prioritization skills to manage a diverse workload and meet critical deadlines.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, balancing the needs of internal and external clients.
  • Proficiency in using various platforms to communicate value propositions and business cases.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in the Utilities sector.
