About The Position

As the Regional President, you will provide senior level leadership within our Regional structure, working closely with your Regional Management team. You will be ultimately responsible for the financial performance of your region, directly leading, coaching, and developing the commercial lending team. Commercial duties include all aspects of business development and sales management in your communities, and you will partner with the Regional Credit Officer to execute and manage within the company’s commercial credit processes. Additionally, you will lead the Regional Advisory Board and engage robustly with the community and its key leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial banking
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of managing commercial banking operations
  • Strong credit acumen with deep knowledge of credit risk management, underwriting, and loan portfolio oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth through strategic sales leadership and business development
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, financial, analytical, and business planning skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within the Regional leadership team
  • Strong community presence with experience building and maintaining relationships with business leaders, civic organizations, and stakeholders
  • High level of integrity and commitment to compliance, regulatory standards, and organizational values
  • Strong familiarity with commercial lending platforms

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Top Senior Officer in the Region, providing focused performance management of the region, including the leadership of the regional/market management team
  • Oversee day to day operations, leadership and supervision of commercial lending team
  • Oversee the extension of credits for the region within established lending authorities and make recommendations for approval within the commercial loan operating system
  • Assist in overseeing and managing credit underwriting to ensure effective operations and compliance with bank policy and procedures
  • Develop and implement individual training plans (sales, technical, compliance, etc.) for the commercial lending team
  • Responsible for annual performance reviews of commercial lending team
  • Provide sales management and leadership for the region, including the planning, implementation and execution of a business calling/prospecting program and the development of the overall sales culture of its region
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of existing and prospective customers to identify goals, problems, opportunities and develop solutions
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring efforts in the region to attract and retain top commercial performers with input from key internal partners
  • Lead and drive the cross-business sales culture and activities of its region, including the creation of a goal-oriented cross sales and referral environment
  • Assist in development and execution of annual business plans, budgets and strategies for the region
  • Provide leadership and liaison to the Region’s Advisory Board in driving ambassadorship, business development and general business counsel
  • Responsible for community development and leadership in the region
  • Establish and build relationships with community leaders, key business customers and prospects
  • Represent German American to community in a professional manner and assure team members are effective representatives at service, civic and community events and activities.
