About The Position

The Regional Phlebotomy Manager (RPM) under the general supervision of the Director of Operations works to ensure efficient and accurate workflow of the Area Phlebotomy Supervisors and Phlebotomy staff. They are responsible for monitoring the phlebotomy areas to ensure that all applicable policies and procedures are followed This position requires at minimum, High School Diploma, GED, and minimum 5 years clinical laboratory experience. Must have current CPT I or CPT II. The position does require some travel.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as Phlebotomist Supervisor
  • CPT licensing required as defined by specific state laws.
  • Good driving record
  • Strong leadership and Supervisory skills.
  • Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
  • High degree of analytical skills in the daily work flow management of department employees.
  • Must possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements. Must maintain a good driving record.
  • Medium to expert status in Microsoft EXCEL, and Word.
  • Excellent computer keying skills required; Alpha and numeric data entry skills, (prefer minimum of 35 wpm and 10-key by touch).
  • Intimately familiar with clinical laboratory terminology.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet expected deadlines.
  • Must be courteous and respectful to others.
  • Outstanding human resource skills to deal effectively with co-workers and clients.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced high volume environment.
  • High School Diploma, GED, and minimum 5 years clinical laboratory experience.
  • Must have current CPT I or CPT II.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of the phlebotomists in the field.
  • Ensure all Area Phlebotomy Supervisors and staff within each processing site are working productively and consistent with the TridentCare Logistics System. As a part of that, ensure every field associate has a good plan and is working the plan on every job site every day.
  • Visits sites regularly to ensure that Area Phlebotomy Supervisors are accomplishing goals and objectives.
  • Reports administratively and operationally to Director of Operations and clinically to the Laboratory Director.
  • Build and retain a team of fully-trained and highly-performing Area Phlebotomy Supervisors and field associates
  • Identify and work to improve lower-performing Area leaders and field associates.
  • Intervene in targeted jobs to re-sequence and re-plan the work to improve performance
  • Works diligently with each Phlebotomy manager to effectively review and use productivity and management reports.
  • Train and strictly enforce all operational safety procedures and policies.
  • Train and strictly enforce quality initiatives and compliance of procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure work is performed to the level of quality required to satisfy established policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements techniques for evaluating operational activities, and counsels/mentors staff on related matters
  • Works closely with Dispatch Supervisors to meet business needs and company’s turnaround goals.
  • Assists Director of Phlebotomy in developing and evaluating budget requests as well as formulation of quarterly objectives and incentives for phlebotomists.
  • Oversee Area Phlebotomy Supervisors and provide them with training and guidance; identify and develop high performing field associates into Area leaders when         necessary, coordinates special inspections, field operations analyses and field investigations as requested.
  • Keeps Administration appropriately informed of ongoing activity and critical matters affecting the operation and well-being of the Company.
  • Adheres to all State Department of Licensing and Regulation Personnel Policies and performs related work as assigned.
  • Works diligently with QA department to evaluate, enhance and maintain designated quality levels of service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
