About The Position

Enhance your career by joining our Outreach Team! You will be on the cutting edge of planning, developing and strategizing our Outreach Program in the Office of Public Engagement (OPE). Additionally, you will serve as Regional Outreach Officer and principal advisor for Outreach to the Assistant Regional Director and Director, and will be responsible for formulating, implementing and executing the regional outreach office plan consistent with the strategic goals of the USPTO!

Requirements

• Must be a United States Citizen or National.
• Must pass a background investigation and fingerprint check.
• Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
• Must meet the definition of specialized experience.
• Must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in developing education programs focused on intellectual property, particularly patents and trademarks.
• Experience establishing and maintaining effective collaborative working relationships with local and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Regional Outreach Officer and principal advisor for Outreach to the Assistant Regional Director and Director.
• Formulate, implement, and execute the regional outreach office plan consistent with the strategic goals of the USPTO.
• Develop and maintain professional contacts with internal and external agencies, including the private sector.
• Direct the day-to-day operations of the public-facing outreach facilities and/or customer service centers at the regional outreach office.
• Prepare the Assistant Director and Director for speaking engagements by creating, coordinating, and updating presentation materials and talking points.
• Plan, direct, and assign work to employees assigned to temporary detail projects.
