About The Position

CSPNJ a mental health nonprofit agency is looking for a self-motivated Regional Outreach Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Unhoused, the ROC’s primary focus is the planning and implementation for the programs and initiatives aimed at addressing and alleviating homelessness within designated rural and suburban areas in designated region. HIGHLIGHTS Manage region by overseeing grant activities by monitoring performance, effectiveness using outcome data, and recommend program modifications as needed. Supervise regional staff by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Lead outreach teams to locate unsheltered individuals, assessing needs for housing, healthcare, and mental health services. Build partnerships with community organizations, government agencies and advocating for homelessness. Full-time | Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of service provisions for the homeless; working knowledge of social, economic issues relevant to low-income communities; and trends in the field of homelessness and social services.
  • Strong understanding of housing first principles and harm reduction.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage crises.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring individuals who use their personal experience with mental health diagnoses or substance use to inspire, support, and empower others.
