About The Position

The Regional Operational Excellence Specialist II at Pilgrim's is responsible for leading process improvement initiatives across various plant locations in the United States. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and performance enhancement through the application of lean and continuous improvement methodologies. The specialist will work closely with plant teams, manage a team of Coordinators of Operational Excellence, and serve as a key member of the Operational Excellence management team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field required.
• 5 - 8 years of manufacturing industry experience.
• Poultry experience preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong Excel user.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Good internal relationship skills.
• Resilient and flexible.
• Teaching and coaching skills.
• Hands-on and detail-oriented.
• Basic statistical skills.
• 6 Sigma certification (desired).

Responsibilities

• Regularly visit Pilgrim's plant and live locations across the United States to conduct process improvement initiatives.
• Develop and manage process improvements for efficiency, cost reduction, or performance gains.
• Lead a team of Coordinators of Operational Excellence (COE) in implementing Management Method tools and processes.
• Act as the primary contact for the Case Ready business unit to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
• Audit plant locations and support the development of plant COEs.
• Co-own the Management Pillar implementation by teaching tools and training personnel.
• Participate in executive updates and quarterly corporate meetings as required.
• Lead two annual meetings with COEs of each plant, planning the agenda and facilitating discussions.
• Act on an ad-hoc basis for other projects or initiatives as part of the Management Method.
• Travel up to 70% of the time.
