Regional MDS Specialist
About The Position
American HealthCare has an immediate career opportunity for a Corporate MDS RN Specialist. This individual will be responsible for oversight of the MDS Coordinators at the facility level. There is direct oversight of coordinating and developing all resident assessments and care plans. They will be responsible for making sure all departments participating in the plan of care are aware of their duties and certify that procedures have been completed. The MDS Special monitors the MDS for timeliness of completion and submission, monitors Quality Measures, and accurate documentation for coding. Job requires travel to Leesburg, King George, Dillwyn, Brookneal and Blackstone.
Requirements
- Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program
- Must have an active RN or LPN license in the state of Virginia
- Must have two years nursing experience
- Patient assessment and patient care skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to make decision independently
- Leadership skills
- Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing in a long-term care facility
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long-term care preferred
- Experience in MDS coding preferred
