About The Position

OVERVIEW: The successful candidate will manage the overall daily operations, activities, and staff within Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18, acting as a liaison between ESS staff members, school district administrators and the corporate office to ensure the delivery of quality services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and/or 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership mentality.
  • Experience in managerial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with school employees in supporting each school's specific program needs and the ESS Account Manager(s).
  • Work in conjunction with school managers/employees, management, and the human resources department, actively participating in various processes such as hiring, terminations/separations, and recruitment initiatives.
  • Visit assigned school districts, traveling 50-75% of the year within the South Jersey area.
  • Create, analyze, and present various managerial reports to management and board members.
  • Act as role of direct reports in emergency situations when deemed necessary
  • Develop and implement performance improvement systems related to staffing for assigned program sites.
  • Other duties as assigned or as become evident.
  • Multi-state travel throughout the area is required.
  • Manages and motivates staff (including hiring, staff discipline, performance management and recognition duties).
  • Assess staffing needs, and recruit staff using methods such as newspaper advertisements or attendance at job fairs.
  • Train, direct and appraise staff.
  • Make daily schedules for proper manpower utilization.
  • Plans and organizes workload and staff assignments.
  • Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
