About The Position

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning. The Regional Manager, Mission Volunteer Engagement, is responsible for recruiting, cultivating, and supporting mission volunteers within Southwest region. This role ensures volunteers are effectively matched to roles, trained, and equipped to deliver impactful mission activities in their communities. The Manager fosters relationships with volunteers, amplifies their contributions, and works collaboratively with colleagues to expand the reach of mission programs.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of volunteer coordination or nonprofit program delivery experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, community engagement, or related field.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Enthusiasm for working with diverse volunteers and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively engage volunteers to contribute in meaningful ways that build organizational capacity to support mission.
  • Implement recognition practices to retain and motivate volunteers.
  • Gather and share volunteer feedback to improve the volunteer experience.
  • Identify, recruit, and match mission volunteers to priority roles in alignment with Society strategy.
  • Build pipelines of volunteer talent, ensuring diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide orientation, resources, and support to volunteers, ensuring role clarity and confidence.
  • Act as a local point of contact and relationship manager for mission volunteers in assigned region.
  • Partner with staff colleagues across community programs, advocacy, and fundraising to integrate volunteers into priority initiatives.
  • Support execution of regional events, programs, and outreach through volunteer leadership.
