About The Position

As the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in the nation, we build, preserve, and manage program-enriched housing across the country. The Regional Maintenance Specialist will c ollaborate with the Property Management Team and Regional Facilities Manager to complete special assignments and projects, coordinate and plan maintenance activities, equipment needs, and predictive or preventative maintenance programs. Provide training, mentoring, and education to diverse site-level staff. Review and provide expertise on maintenance operations for several properties in the San Francisco region. You will be the "go-to" subject matter expert on maintenance operations. We encourage candidates with lived experience to apply. This is an on-site position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in skilled maintenance work required.
  • Technical expertise in one or more building trades and EPA Universal Certification.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing.
  • Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Ability to make working sketches, use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.
  • Interpret and understand maintenance information generated from property management software reports.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with property and facilities leadership to achieve property budgets.
  • Drive the successful execution of capital projects, adhering to quality standards while optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Review and certify competitive bids are complete and reasonable.
  • Conducts pre-Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) and pre-Management Occupancy inspections.
  • Participates in the annual property inspection process
  • Provides guidance in managing building systems and repairs and complex maintenance issues.
  • Assist in insurance claim mitigation and rebuild work by ensuring timely and efficient claims processing to minimize financial impact.
