About The Position

The Regional Lift Station Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of lift stations within Polk County Utilities. This role involves supervising personnel engaged in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment related to wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing preventive maintenance programs. The supervisor will also perform administrative duties, assist with budget processes, and fill in for the Maintenance Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • Minimum of six (6) years combined experience in production facility maintenance and construction of wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related supervisory experience.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Florida FDEP Wastewater license and/or FWPCOA Wastewater Collection Certification within 1 year of start date.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to secure a valid Florida driver's license at the time of employment.
  • Must possess a valid Florida CDL to operate maintenance equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Telemetry System Supervisory Control Data Acquisition (SCADA).
  • Knowledge of database computer hardware and software utilized by the unit.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and perform daily activities of lift station personnel engaged in maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee building and ground maintenance of all utility operation lift stations.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical work in the absence of assigned personnel.
  • Assist the Utilities Maintenance Manager by supervising assigned personnel.
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs for lift station equipment.
  • Make routine inspections of all lift station sites and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Perform administrative duties including estimating costs and assisting with budget processes.
  • Work with the crew on the CMMS work order system and assist other regions when needed.
