Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) – COO Organization - Regional Investment Banking Business Analyst
About The Position
The Regional Investment Banking business focuses on establishing strategic dialogue and building long-term relationships with U.S. mid-cap companies and sponsors, venture capital and emerging growth companies through localized and dedicated coverage. We deliver integrated investment banking solutions to our clients through strong advisory expertise, capitalizing on powerful mergers and acquisitions, as well as debt and equity capital and financing expertise. Job Overview The Business Analyst partners closely with and works directly for the group COO team. Together, they serve as strategic advisors to the Group Head(s) and leadership team, focused on driving productivity and initiatives to help lead and manage their overall business. Some key areas of focus include business strategy and planning, senior management presentations, client franchise analyses, business and banker performance measurement, competitor benchmarking through proprietary fee-based market share and trend analyses, client information systems development/enhancements, internal and external communications, and business initiatives. Business Analysts are key resources within each team providing support to help the group leaders more effectively manage their business.
Requirements
- Seeking an ambitious, independent, and hardworking candidate with an interest in the Financial Services sector.
- An ideal candidate would have 2+ years of financial, operations, and general business support experience in the corporate & investment banking business, though lack of experience is not a barrier to a candidate who proves willing to put in the effort to learn quickly.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required and some financial background is helpful.
- Intermediate to advanced excel and powerpoint experience is essential in the role.
- Candidates must demonstrate a combination of business aptitude, quantitative skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Business Analysts are required to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
- Key characteristics include: attention to detail, ability to grasp concepts quickly, ability to multi-task, experience in managing critical projects and achieving successful results, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Generate performance reports focused on driving business and team results
- Assist with investment banking fee analyses
- Prepare weekly and monthly group financial reporting using Excel
- Perform comprehensive client planning, competitor and financial industry benchmark research
- Assist in creating business presentations on strategy, business performance, planning initiatives and other materials for internal and external audiences
- Maintain key databases for the team related to clients, deals and banker dashboards
- Communicate and interact with team members across COO teams, finance, compliance, and technology
- Assist with a variety of ad hoc assignments, typically with time constraints
