About The Position

To support H-E-B Partners, Customers, and third-party stakeholders, our Enterprise Safety Team ensures issuance and administration of safety training, policies, and programs across corporate, industrial, and retail facilities. As a Regional Safety Leader I, you'll supervise a team of Safety Partners in a corporate, regional, industrial, or retail area. You'll provide technical assistance, consulting support, trend analysis, development / facilitation of training initiatives, and implement safety and accident prevention programs to ensure a safe place to work and shop. Requirements

  • 3+ years of safety-related experience
  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
  • 3+ years of experience related to safety
  • 1+ years of experience leading people
  • Experience in retail, industrial, or corporate safety
  • Experience related to safety and injury prevention, work injury, liability, safety, and accident prevention programs
  • Professional Safety / OSHA 501 certification or equivalent (ASP/CSP preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Safety Partners
  • Applies specialized knowledge in safety standards, OSHA standards, NFPA regulations, human factors, and local, state, and federal safety and health policies to safety and injury prevention in assigned facilities
  • Implements safety and accident prevention programs that ensure a safe place to work and shop
  • Serves as subject matter expert on injury prevention; provides specialized safety training to Partners and Safety Team members
  • Communicates / collaborates with facility, regional, and corporate leaders on total safety management in all areas of respective operations
  • Partners with Talent Development to develop safety-related trainings
  • Facilitates safety-related training initiatives
  • Verifies / approves recognized safety solutions
  • Provides technical assistance and consulting support
  • Supports Safety Advisors and Trainers in their daily safety responsibilities
  • Coaches / trains Management and Partners in OSHA, NFPA, and local, state, and federal policies, standards, guidelines, and safety initiatives, best practices, and safe behaviors
  • Leads safety reviews of corporate, industrial, or retail facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and related local, state, and federal policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Facilitates incident investigation process for work injuries, including OSHA serious injury procedures, specifically for investigation and root cause analysis
  • Assists with regulatory agency audits
