About The Position

The Regional Hygiene Director – Georgia is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing hygienists across the region to deliver comprehensive patient care and exceptional doctor support. This role ensures complete and accurate documentation, promotes professionalism, and drives superior customer service while aligning hygiene operations with GEDC’s clinical standards and business objectives throughout Georgia.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist
  • Active Georgia State Hygiene License
  • Maintain all required certifications and licensure to practice
  • Ability to travel locally within our GA offices
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and business analytics tools
  • Excellent customer service and customer relations management experience
  • Superior written, interpersonal, and relationship-building communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to teach large peer groups
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and manage challenging situations effectively
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Proven success managing multiple projects with strong prioritization and time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Active participation in the ADA or other professional organizations is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management or a related business field is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Train, retain, and develop clinical hygiene staff across Georgia
  • Educate, mentor, and train teams on best clinical and hygiene therapy practices
  • Inspire a culture of excellence, accountability, and strong treatment outcomes
  • Mentor hygiene staff through in-office visits and POD meetings to ensure compliance with GEDC clinical guidelines
  • Utilize chairside coaching to improve patient relations and clinical skills
  • Elevate hygienists’ skillsets through best-practice implementation
  • Provide chart review support to ensure:
  • Proper treatment planning and sequencing
  • Accurate documentation and inter-provider collaboration
  • Correct fee application
  • Maintain consistent communication with Clinical Directors, VPs of Operations, Area Operations Managers, and Practice Administrators regarding hygiene needs
  • Communicate needs related to staffing, hiring, training, supplies, and schedules
  • Analyze and utilize monthly hygiene performance reports
  • Identify regional trends
  • Schedule monthly meetings with the National Hygiene Director
  • Lead in-office hygiene meetings as needed
  • Stay current with periodontal therapy best practices
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
