About The Position

We're looking for a regional practice builder who can lead, develop and operate a team of architects and engineers focused on Mission Critical, Aerospace and Industrial markets in the southwest. The primary focus will be growing our Mission Critical and Aerospace & Industrial markets in a dynamic and profitable manner based upon Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, business or related degree from an accredited program and 10 years relevant consulting experience, preferably in the consulting engineering industry or project management.
  • Expert experience in client and business development.
  • Expert experience in managing projects, which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
  • Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and/or profit margins in completed projects.
  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Southwest Region's Global Facilities (GFS) practice.
  • Responsible for the sales, revenue and income goals for the Global Practice.
  • Initiates and directs proposal development and contract negotiations.
  • Responsible for coordinating project planning including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, communicating and managing deadlines and establishing and performing to critical project objectives.
  • Lead and oversee client development in key markets, ideally acting in a seller-doer role to facilitate market growth.
  • Identify and support the recruitment of key individuals and retain outstanding employee-owners.
  • Partner with the GFS national practice team to develop and implement initiatives, objectives, key results and business strategies.
  • Present monthly financial information to leadership including schedules and budget forecasts.
  • Responsible for ensuring alignment and support of Regional Office staff development, quality control and resource coordination.
  • Conduct performance evaluation for selected departments or direct reports.
  • Interpret policies, purposes and goals of the organization to Department Managers.
  • Plan, coordinate, communicate and facilitate activities of several disciplines on projects of all sizes from conception through completion.
  • Contribute through active participation and communication with peer group within the region to support cross selling, collaboration and office health.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards.
