Primary Purpose The General Manager is a dynamic leadership role responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and growing USS business in the assigned geography. This role will have full Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability and will spearhead both sales and operational requirements to achieve growth and profitability goals. This collaborative position works with Regional Vice Presidents, Operations Managers/Supervisors, and sales leaders to achieve overall growth targets, with full P & L accountability. The ideal candidate will be a forward thinker who can navigate various challenges and changes within the organization.

Requirements

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degreeor equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Have experience with multi-stop routing systems & dispatch procedures
  • Computer knowledge (Navision, Microsoft Office & routing/logistics software)

  • Experience managing a budget
  • Knowledge of all company assets in inventory
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning, repair, service, and maintenance of those assets
  • Valid Driver License

Responsibilities

  • Lead an exceptional team of high-performing operations and sales professionals, strategically guiding them to surpass targets and excel within the designated geography.
  • Create a strategic plan focused on maximizing growth and productivity in line with the overall growth strategy of USS.
  • Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships.
  • Adhere to USS standards for excellence, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, training, and development to the team.
  • Supervise daily activities, allocate performance objectives, and verify their achievement
  • Manage and coordinate sales and operational activity for assigned locations.
  • Recommend measures to improve operational practices and the quality of customer care.
  • Work with various departments to resolve customer service issues.
  • Analyze and report on sales and operational activities to meet objectives and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Senior Vice President to develop and implement standard practices and efficiency recommendations.
  • Ensure DOT compliance.
  • Supervise the administration of the company's safety program.
  • Spearhead employee development initiatives and conduct regular performance reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and safety-centric work environment characterized by mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration.
  • Undertake any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and versatility in addressing evolving organizational needs and priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
