About The Position

The Regional General Manager is responsible for managing the sales activities of the organization, either personally or through subordinate supervisors, and overseeing retail branch P&L responsibilities. This role involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans to meet corporate goals, directing sales forecasting activities, and setting performance goals. The manager will review market analyses to determine customer needs and pricing strategies, and will also oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations to ensure effective branch management. Additionally, the position includes directing channel development activities, simplifying product lines, representing the company at trade association meetings, and maintaining key client relationships. The manager will hold quarterly meetings to address regional concerns and goals, recommend training classes, analyze expenditures, and monitor competition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field from four-year college or university.
  • Five to ten years related experience and/or training.
  • Three to five years managerial/supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control retail branch.
  • Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories and goals.
  • Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting branch managers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals when needed.
  • Holds quarterly region meetings to address problems or concerns and establish the goals of the region.
  • Recommends or determines training classes for employees and customers.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of region to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.
  • Recruit and develop personnel for future growth of the company.
