Regional Float Student Nurse Tech
About The Position
This role will provide patient care throughout BJC Health and requires the ability and willingness to travel to BJC East Region locations. The position is PRN, requiring 24 hours every six weeks, including 12 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. Day and Night shifts are available, and the role includes a $3/hour float differential plus mileage reimbursement and shift differentials. New hires will train full-time for the first 3 weeks in orientation. BJC Corporate Health Services, which comprises several organizations, is dedicated to creating and maintaining healthy workplaces, serving hundreds of area employers and BJC HealthCare by improving worker health, safety, productivity, and reducing costs associated with work-related illness/injury and absenteeism. The Student Nurse Tech provides multi-skilled, direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health).

Responsibilities
- Assists nurse with patient and family education.
- Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
- Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
- Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
- Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
- Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
