About The Position

Novant Health is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Float to bring skill, compassion, and flexibility to our premier clinics across the Greater Winston-Salem Area. As a Float CMA, you'll be the go-to clinical support professional, assisting in a wide range of specialties from family medicine to cardiology, pediatrics, and more. Each day is different, making this the perfect position for someone who enjoys meaningful work with variety and purpose.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program that includes an externship in a clinical setting
• Medical Assistant curriculum must include pharmacology and medication administration
• Certification/registry must be obtained by the last day of the six month of hire
• Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA; required
• Experience must include both clinical (including medication administration) and administrative duties
• Previous work experience in a medical office, preferred

Nice To Haves

• Alternative Work Experience for eligibility to take NHA, ARMA, NHCWA, NCCT, NAHP, or AMT exams
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and patient education
• Perform vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure smooth clinic flow
• Deliver empathetic support to patients throughout their care journey
• Support to patients throughout their care journey
