About The Position

Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking mission-minded Associates to join us as full time (37.5 per week) Reginal Field Organizer in our Central Ohio region. Position Summary The Regional Field Organizer maintains and grows a strong grassroots network across a multi-county region in Ohio to protect and advance reproductive freedom. This role recruits, trains and engages advocates, volunteers, and community partners in support of reproductive freedom. Working collaboratively across departments, the Regional Field Organizer leads outreach, facilitates training and events, and manages campaign and program volunteers. This position supports both Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio in alignment with applicable 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) guidelines. Requirements

  • Commitment to reproductive freedom and alignment with the mission, goals, and values of PPGOH and PPAO.
  • Experience in grassroots organizing, advocacy campaigns, or volunteer-based community work.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills with the ability to motivate people to action.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively in an often tense or emotionally charged environment.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and non-judgmentally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sensitivity regarding sexuality and reproductive healthcare choices.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, including on a remote team.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel regularly within a multi-county region and occasionally throughout and outside the state of Ohio.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to reliably travel to required locations are required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two to three years of experience in grassroots organizing, advocacy, or community-based nonprofit work preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in student organizing, political campaigns, or nonprofit community organizing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising or leading volunteers, interns, or fellows.
  • Familiarity with voter engagement tools, advocacy databases, or organizing platforms such as EveryAction or VAN.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit supporters, volunteers, storytellers, and Action Fund members through tabling, canvassing, and other in-person and online outreach methods.
  • Recruit, organize and manage volunteers for direct actions, lobby days, and electoral programs to hold elected officials and decision makers accountable.
  • Manage volunteer phone banking, canvassing, and recruitment for advocacy and election-related activities.
  • Facilitate in-person workshops, trainings, and events to educate and empower supporters, volunteers, and community members around reproductive freedom and cross-movement issues.
  • Train and support Planned Parenthood Generation Action campus chapters in collaboration with the Field Organizing Director and monitor progress toward chapter goals.
  • Increase PPGOH and PPAO visibility and credibility by strengthening existing relationships and developing new partnerships with allied organizations, in collaboration with Education, Development, and Community Engagement teams.
  • Represent PPGOH and PPAO at health fairs, community events, and public speaking engagements in coordination with the external affairs team.
  • Manage the execution of the Health Center Advocacy Program, Community Care Kit Program, and Healthy Neighbor Canvassing Program.
  • Recruit and support patient advocates and volunteers to participate in the Patient Advocacy Program and share reproductive health and education stories.
  • Organize and advocate on behalf of both PPGOH and PPAO in 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 capacities.
  • Utilize EveryAction and VAN to track supporter engagement and volunteer activity.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely reporting on organizing activities, outcomes, and impact to inform strategy and measure success.
  • Other duties as assigned.
