About The Position

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is the premier grassroots organization focused on advocating solutions to the country’s greatest challenges. As a Regional Field Manager (internally referred to as Grassroots Engagement Director) you will identify, recruit, and engage grassroots leaders in Pennsylvania, mobilize them to take action, and drive policy reforms that open opportunities for all. This position will be based in the Lehigh Valley area.

Requirements

• Passion for people and ability to build relationships quickly.
• Knowledge of state and federal public policy landscapes.
• Self-motivation and organization skills.
• Ability to work with a team of people, including AFP staff and activists.
• Excitement to canvass neighborhoods and make phone calls for AFP priority initiatives.
• A valid driver's license for travel across the state.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and values.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in grassroots advocacy and/or community organizing.
• Experience in political campaigns.
• Experience in supervising staff and/or volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Identify activists in various parts of the state who are currently - or could become - leaders in their local communities, and motivate them to advocate for change.
• Equip local leaders to advocate for changes that are consistent with principles AFP believes in by connecting them to training and resources.
• Organize events to engage the public through phone calls, social media, and face-to-face interactions.
• Innovate by creating fun or unique ways to educate people on public policy issues and initiatives.
• Ensure regular contact with activists to keep them motivated, educated, and active.
• Manage part-time canvassing contractors, including time management, compliance with laws and regulations, and best practices.
