You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in. Ferguson is currently seeking a Regional Estimations Manager in the North Central United States to join our team! This is a remote role that will support the North Central Waterworks region. Our ideal candidate must be within easy commuting distance of locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Iowa, Dakotas, Nebraska, Kentucky or Tennesse.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years waterworks or underground construction industry experience.
  • Demonstrates expertise in interpreting and responding to RFPs and RFQs, ensuring proposal content aligns with customer requirements, bid strategy, and organizational standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups at multiple levels of the organization
  • Experience leading vendor relationship management and negotiation efforts to ensure competitive pricing, alignment with project requirements.
  • Ability to travel throughout the region with occasional flights and overnights, estimated 25% - 50%

Nice To Haves

  • Prior use of PlanSwift, Salesforce, or similar estimating software, highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Directs and steers the project estimation function responsible for generating quotes to customers and/or Sales department.
  • Drives standards / process for the Region's preparation of bids, proposal content, conformance to Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements, customer liaison and business partner/vendor communication and coordination.
  • Develop, train and upskill the Estimation and Quotation teams and leaders within the Region to have a comprehensive understanding of the construction bid packages, where the team can create efficiencies, working within necessary time deadlines, managing costs and sales prices, managing vendor relationships, working through processes, and common systems/technology.
  • Supervises and adjusts the Area's progress and handling of all elements of job construction bid packages, such as bill of material, bid scheduling, coordinating bid files, cost and sales price, bid listings, vendor interactions and negotiations, pricing, submittals and order entry.
  • Quality Control: Performs "soil samples" of Region estimators' bids to regularly understand effectiveness of training, productivity, learning, development, and process of estimation teams effectiveness
  • Processes/Technology: Ensures effective implementation of existing and future technologies by developing clear communication to streamline enablement from Director of Estimation to the Region associates
  • Ensures estimation managers and associates consistently meet quality and work standards through regular coaching
  • Supports implementation, training and consistent practice of new processes or system/technologies for estimation teams
  • Ensures effective workflow of new and existing quotations over time, developing clear communication channels within the organization in order to facilitate robust commercial and customer outcomes.
  • Adhere to Company compliance and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Maintains the relationship with key leadership and stakeholders for the region.
